Brazilian Butt Lift

The Brazilian Butt Lift is an augmentation procedure of the buttocks that creates a more youthful and prominent buttocks, and a more sensual body profile. We remove fat by liposuction from selected areas of the body, and injects purified donor fat cells into the buttocks. The procedure is designed to fill the upper quadrant of the buttocks so that it appears lifted and fuller. Patients with a flat buttocks and good donor fat from the back, abdomen, hips and flanks, are the best candidates. Each procedure is specifically tailored and sculpted to meet the individual needs of patients.

During The Surgery

A Brazilian butt lift is an outpatient procedure performed under general anesthesia. The duration of the surgery varies based on several factors, including the amount of fat being removed, the technique used, and the size of the area being treated. It can be combined with other procedures, such as a tummy tuck or breast surgery. Liposuction is performed first to harvest the donor fat. Common areas for donor fat include the lower back, abdomen, hips and flanks. The areas around the buttocks are sculpted to make them stand out more. The fat suctioned from these areas is carefully processed and purified for reinjection into the buttocks.

Recovery

During the recovery process, it is important for patients to get up and move around several times a day to help speed the recovery process, and reduce the risk of blood clots forming in the legs. A clot preventing medication may also be prescribed in the postoperative period. After surgery, patients often feel somewhat sore, tired and stiff. Fluid drainage from the incisions, swelling and mild bleeding are also common.

Brazilian Butt Lift FAQ

Butt Lift Or Lipo?

For patients who have hanging and loose skin or wrinkles under the buttocks, a butt lift will be necessary. Liposuction is a fat removal procedure. If the skin tone and laxity around the buttocks is healthy, and excess fat is the problem, liposuction may be recommended.

Duration Of Surgery?

The duration of the surgery is very dependent on how many areas are being treated and the volume of fat removed. Most patients will not exceed 3 hours of liposuction.

Combine With Other Procedures?

The Brazilian butt lift is can be a stand-alone surgery, or combined with other body contouring procedures such as a tummy tuck or breast augmentation. However, there is a limit to how many procedures can be done safely as it relates to surgical recovery and the amount of time the surgery takes.

When Can I Go Back To Work?

Every person recovers differently. The recovery period depends on how many procedures have performed at the same time. The average return to work for liposuction alone is 1 week.

When Can I Exercise Again?

The average return to routine exercises is usually about 2 months. Post-operative swelling usually persists for several months after liposuction.
